Society for the Conservation and Study of Caribbean Birds Meeting 2013

Help me represent St. Martin at the 2013 meeting of the Society for the Conservation and Study of Caribbean Birds. This year’s meeting takes place at St. George’s University in Grenada and I have been invited to present to the society about my book and my wildlife education program. It is also a fantastic opportunity for me to learn more about best practices in education and outreach in order to improve the work I do on St. Martin. In the last month, I’ve done seven events at schools and for the general public, with a much more extensive program of educational outreach planned that will begin when schools are back in session in the fall.

The total cost of attending the meeting is approximately $1,200 (much of that is the airfare to get there). If you are interested in sponsoring this, you can message me or donate via PayPal on this page.

For more about the SCSCB, you can visit their web site or follow them on Facebook.

If you have an employer that might be interested in being a sponsor, please get in touch, and, of course, I would be grateful if you share this post with your friends. Thanks!

The chicks in the photo are Yellow Warblers (also known as Mangrove Warblers). When doing my weekly sea turtle nesting survey at Happy Bay last week, I noticed mom had left the nest to find some food, giving me the chance to take a quick photo of the chicks.
