Garden Zachrysia

I was out looking for frogs the other day and ended up taking some photos of snails, partly inspired by a gorgeous book about Cuban terrestrial mollusks that I lucked into. This one is, as best I can tell, the Garden Zachrysia, a relatively large native species. Snails are both difficult and easy to photography. On the one hand, they move slowly, but they can also be highly reflective, making it hard to get good photos without the body or shell being overly-illuminated by the flash. If you want to take some photos of snails, I recommend doing it on a damp evening/night when they are active.
