If you hear a loud, rasping insect at night, it’s probably the broad-tipped conehead. It’s a type of katydid, and as you can see, they have a little cone at the top of their head. They’re quite common on St. Martin and can be either green or brown.
Party conehead is also all excited because we hit our fundraising goal on Kickstarter in under two days. That’s amazing! It is still a perfect time to support this project. The way Kickstarter works, funding only happens when a project meets its goal, so our goal was the bare minimum necessary to produce the book. With additional funding, we can add more pages to include more species and have higher quality paper and printing to make the book look even better.
Special thanks to the supporters from today that helped us get to our goal: Debora Baldassini, Michelle Barry, Christopher R. Carolin, kattahj, Travis Stevens, Philippe Jacquemart, Binkie van Es, Paula Yokoyama, Andres March and Jeanie Abel!
